    Default Compressor pressure switch

    Hi everyone,
I'm new here and looking for info on the pressure switch on the back of the compressor of my 94 1500. Does anyone know is it has to be hooked up? Can I just short the leads? Put new compressor in and new one didn't have one so it got me wondering? Can I use the switch from the old compressor? Buy a new one? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, it needs to be hooked up, it's your high side pressure cutoff switch...typically, when they give you a new compressor, it won't come installed, so you have to either remove the old one and install it on the new one, or buy a new switch and install it on the new one......but you prolly already figured that out by now...thought I would just answer this question, even though its half a month old.
