Sound Quality/ On-Star Issue
OK a new one I need some help on. I have an intermittent issue with the mid-level sound/ On-Star/back up warning system. Sometimes when I start my truck the Onstar sound level is super low and it sounds as if my door speakers are not working at all, I have no mid range sound just the A-pillar tweeters. Other times it is fine. Also I noticed when I have the issue the back-up sensors have no sound either. Is all of this stuff tied in through the head-unit and through the door speakers? What should I go looking for? I was thinking a loose connection in the head unit speaker wire but I wasn't sure if these are the speakers that the On-Star and backup sensors use.A man must believe in something...I beliveve I'll have another!

All warning chimes, door chimes and onstar run through the regular car speakers. You have stock or aftermarket head unit?

Have you contacted your local dealership regarding this concern? There are many benefits to taking a vehicle to your local dealership. You can guarantee that technicians are certified and that the parts come with a GM parts warranty. For these reasons, I would recommend taking the vehicle to your local dealership to be diagnosed. They should be able to assist you further and have a plan for addressing the issue. I can also look into this issue further. In order to do more research, I will need some more specific information from you such as your name, address, phone number, the VIN for the vehicle, and current mileage. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact me either on the thread or via private message. Thank you.

Has their been a solution found to this problem without dealer intervention? At times my Onstar, chimes and radio come through the pillar speakers only. The problem will fix itself, but I am wondering where I should start to keep this from happening. I have not replaced anything. I have a 2008 Sierra 1500
Thanks in advance

If you haven't modified your audio system then it is probably something to do with an onstar module or the onstar system. That is if regular radio/cd music plays through the speakers with no distoration.
