Does anyone know how to replace just the window motor on a regulator 99 Suburban
Drivers door. I have the regulator out... and the window had been stuck half way open when the motor died. I purchased the new motor and realized that the old was attached to the regulator by 3 rivits. So I decided to be a wise guy and I removed just the bottom end of the motor to replace it... LOW AND BEHOLD.... AS SOON AS I REMOVED THE MOTOR THE REGULATOR BECAME A FINGER GUILOTINE AND NEARLY SHEARED MY FLIPPING PINKY OFF... it was stuck in there for a good 30 seconds (dont laugh) thank God it did not break cause it caught on the knuckle.
Does anyone have a DIY that shows how to do this safely.Danny

Sorry I don't have a DIY, but it sounds like you've got the hard part done. Most people just drill out the rivets & replace them with nuts & bolts at this point, because it takes a hell of a big gun to reinstall the factory size rivets. Use a piece of wood to prop the window up to help align everything & hold it & for safety. On the bright side, your finger probably saved the window glass. I've seen one break when it slammed down in the botton1988 Chevy C-3500 2wd (no pic)

use vise grips and grip the end so it wont move when you drill the rivits out. the new motor should come with nuts and bolts. if not get some and replace them with the new ones the rivets just drill the head out make sure that the nuts and bolts have the right size dont go bigger or smaller.
