I'm new here. This is my first post. I'm in an '07 Tahoe LS. It being the base model, I'm 99% sure I don't have any kind of power seat memory feature or Easy Exit. Yet about every 3rd time I go to get in my truck, the driver's power seat is moved all the way up. Why?
For what it's worth, I have RTFM and I can't find a reason/solution there.
Just yesterday, I caught it in the act... Or, I should say, it caught me. Here's the sequence:
- Backed into the garage until sonar told me to stop.
- Got out and left keys in ignition, as always.
- Wasn't in quite far enough, so I got back in and started the Tahoe.
- The seat started moving forward... And moving forward... And kept on moving forward...
- I literally had to get out of the way, as the seat moved ALL THE WAY FORWARD.
- I then manually moved it back to where I need it to be.
After that Christine movie moment, I could NOT make the behavior repeat. I went through every option on the D.I.C. (three times) and there is no option for seat memory or Easy Exit.
Thoughts?

Dealer only repair, sorry to say but that new it needs to go to the dealer to fix this problem before someone gets hurt. You could be driving down the street and have this happen and be crushed or loose control and hit something or some one..
Just wonder if you try to stop this from happening when it happens, by trying to move the seat yourself does it do anything?

Damn! That's exactly what I didn't want to hear. Since it has never occurred with the vehicle running, I never thought of it as a safety issue. You're right though. Better safe than sorry.
I was hoping it was some D.I.C. setting I wasn't aware of or had overlooked.

Wow, that would be pretty freaky, having the seat move forward on you like that. Fiero is right, it could be something like a lose wire that they could spot (pry not) or it could be a system bug, but it did happen and it would alter your ability to steer or hit your pedals.

On the back of your transmitter the thing that unlocks your doors what number is it? it's either a #1 or a #2 what you are describing is memory seats you have to look on the drivers door are there buttons that are numbered there?
and it's normal when you enter the vehicle the seat will move to the preset settings that have been set to the transmitter (hense the numbers on the back)
The LS is not the base model for the tahoe and the memory seats are almost standard on those models Its not a defect since my seats do that too and it really sucks when i grab the wrong remote to open my tahoe![]()

The LS most definitely is the base model Tahoe and memory seats most definitely are not standard on the LS. Not even close on either count.Originally Posted by TahoeFever

Seems nobody else has experienced this or cares, but here's a slight update: After giving up my truck for a day for them to replace the "SOP switch," the seat moved on its own again one hour later.
I wrote a blistering letter to the dealer's service manager and customer service manager (on this and other issues), but haven't followed up with them. I also had reaffirmed to me the fact that trading in an '07 vehicle with less than 3,000 miles on it is financially foolish.
Nevermind I'm not happy with it, at least I've got it for 6 more years.![]()

On page 13 of your manual do you have those icons on your drivers side door?
it's also on your DIC on page 283 if the icons are not on the drivers side door
good luck
