Having to turn the key past start and further/harder to energize the starter
I was having problems in my 73 C20, as it reqired muscle power to over-rotate the key to get it cranking.
I replaced the key cylinder; but it is the same turn with brute force past start and hope it cranks.
Has anyone had this happen?

It could be the ignition switch itself, or the metal rod that runs inside the column between the switch and the key cylinder could be bent or binding for some reason.

Usually what happens is the screws that hold the ignition switch to the column vibrate loose. Just readjust it and tighten the screws back down....
