Default New Engine, Old Engine Question

I'm thingking about repowering my 07 Sierra and upgrading from a 4.3 to at least a 4.8. I can use some input on and memebr's experience about what's the best way to get rid of my old engine. My current engine has 33,500 miles on it.

goldie, I would go with a 5.3, gas mileage between the 4.8 and 5.3 are almost the same. How about the new 5.3H.O.??

Thanks, something to ponder and consider. But how do I get rid of the old engine? I need logistics like this taken care of before I jump in and start playing.

I would contact some auto recycling yards near you and see if they will buy and pick-up. Maybe if you let them see the engine running in the truck they will be willing to give you a little more money for it.

I saw your other post about transmissions. If I may ask, what is your goal, more power, more mpg's, etc...?
