Alex, I will keep you in my prayers. You really want to get out of this thing's way. I have had family ride 'em out in Fla and a buddy rode out a cat 1 that brushed the Carolina coast and said never again. I have never heard anyone go through one that did not have the sh*t scared out of them. If you have loved ones who what you to be around. Get you sh*t and get out.

Wish you the best Alex....give us an update when you get a chance. Glad you were able to get your cat and the ever-popular TP, as STB recommended.

Looks like it's losing some steam, but she's still gonna hit pretty hard. Keep safe everyone out on the east coast.

Yeah it looks like it is fading.
No surprise -as it moves N the water cools and the energy for the hurricane decreases.
Guess this is why the NE doesn't have too many really horrible hurricanes-nothing like what Florida or the Gulf Coast get because of the warm Atlantic and Gulf.
It is kinda funny how the newscasters "pretend" to be so concerned when they are secretly hoping it will stay Cat 4 or so.
Not that they are monsters- but human nature being what it is-they really want to show those 15 foot surges flooding NYNY
Except for tunnels/subways NYNY is at sea level and above- not several feet below sea level like NOLA- NYNY would drain out and pumps would only have to pump out tunnels/subways.
It might end up being a Shoo Shoo-a very good thing. The talking heads seem really disappointed already.

We have been VERY quiet from web traffic from the east coast for the past two or three days. Hopefully everyone is just getting prepared ... lots going on in life. Schools are starting back up, labor day plans to be made, and now an earthquake too boot.
