Default Missed Traffic Court = Warrant for Steve

ARGH! My kiddo is still in the NICU (29 days today) and we were about to come home last night, but he didn't pass his car-seat test (low oxygen level when he slumped over) so we are going to re-try that tomorrow and maybe come home. Anyhow, I got to sleep at about 3 AM last night.

So, in the middle of this madness I OVERSLEPT! I was supposed to go to court at 9:30 AM this morning to have my court case for my speeding ticket from JANUARY 2008. (That's right sports fans, that's 3 1/2 years ago right now).

So I called and I have a warrant, so I have to go get that taken care of.

Sigh, the wheels of justice. Took three years to go to trial and 2 hours to go to warrant.

Wow, I read the original thread. If all the other cars were passing you, then he obviously shot someone else & thought it was you. Why has it taken them so freaking long to set a court date? Since you missed your court date today, do you actually get a chance at rescheduling it? Here if we miss the date, that's it, it's over. We are automatically considered guilty (guilty plea is entered for us in absentia by the judge)

Want us to start baking cakes for ya?
I think I got a few extra files in the tool box I can spare.
Remember cigarettes are like $$ in jail so carry a few cartons with ya for a while in case you get popped, then you might be able to buy your way outta being bubbas gf for a while.
Good luck with rescheduling the local court system isnt user friendly. I've been on jury duty 3 times in the last 3 years so I got to see it a little to much.

I went to the court, got in to see a judge who was very nice. He basically apologized for taking so long to get to trial. I think they must have been moving to a new software system or something because it took a LONG time and he said they are doing it faster now. It should be 1 to 2 months now and I will have a new trial date.

    WHEW!

Hopefully he will cut you some slack when it comes to trial. I hope you get to take your son home soon - regardless of how the trial turns out, that will be a victory. Who knows, the cop that wrote the ticket my not even be around LOL!

    Sorry to hear Steve.

I had kinda of the same thing happen to me. I was at FT. Campbell and had court in Nashville but during the night it snowed like 5 inches and I just couldn't make it. So I called and they told if I couldn't make it then I would have a warrant out, so I got a warrant and when it was clear enough I went to the court house and seen a judge and thank goodness he dismissed the warrant due to weather and I just had to pay the court cost.

Wish you the best of luck brother and if you need anything we are here to support you.
