Default 82 Diesel ... random downshifting

My 82 burb keeps dumping into a lower gear, wont upshift, or it will not stay in overdrive.

    The tranny fluid looks clean.

I will check the kickdown switch in the morning ... but is there anything else I should look for?

And, if needed, does anyone have a recommendation for a tranny shop in East Vancouver WA or NE Portland OR?

Hello neighbor! I live in Yacolt only 25 miles north of Vancouver, WA. Something else you might check is vacume hoses. I have had my 87 Blazer at a couple of tranny shops in Vancouver and will never go back. Hopefully it is just something simple but if it does not clear up, let me know and I will ask around for a decent repair shop to take it to. Good luck!

I replaced some vacuum lines, and drove it for a bit, and it failed. Once it warms up, it barely moves if you rev the engine.

I think I will need some transmission service.

If you have a suggestion, I'm all ears.
