Default 82 Burb bench to bucket conversion

I just bought 2 bucket seats to replace the front bench and was wondering if anyone knows of the best way to mount the inside bolts? since the bench only had 4 bolts, 2 on each end. The front inside is my main concern because the burbs with factory bucket seats have a mount that is welded in place there to accept the bolt, hopefully I can just drill a hole and put a nut on the back of the bolt for the inside rear.

No reason you can’t just drill holes and bolt them in, you may need to put some washers in to get the right height. And you are definitely going to need a helper to hold the wrench underneath.

theres a good 2" from the bucket seat rail and the floor at the inside front bolt location, dont really want to place washers to fill that gap.

Didn’t realize there was that big a gap, ½” or so I would put washers in. 2” seems a little much for washers.

In that case it might not be a bad idea to get the mount section cut out at a bone yard and have it welded in, or you might be able to bolt that mount in and then just use it to bolt the seat in.

You don’t say where you are located, fill in your signature card, maybe one of the members here that welds, like me and others could help you out.

I’m forever doing things like this for little or no pay to local club members.

I think itll be easier if I just buy a couple 1/4" thick L brackets and bend them to the correct shape and size and then weld them in place. I weld so thats taken care of. Thanks for all of your help.

The back bucket seats on Burbs I believe you can buy at any aftermarket van shop. They are not set up like the front.

They will at least be able to tell you what will fit and if a special mount or adapter will be needed.

Another option is the bone yard, Burbs have been around so long and are so popular that there have got to be hundreds local.
