I have never signed up for any social media sites. I don't think they are a smart idea and they just clog the internet with more chatter. I cannot see a use that I cannot get another way. I actually have a cell phone, but, ITS A PHONE, not a text message agent or a data browser.

I have FB but don't use it here. By and large FB is a tool most people use to keep up with friends, relatives, and/or co-workers. i.e. It's largely personal in focus. As such, it's really out of place when tied to things that are not personal. While special interests (trucks, guns, pets, etc.) can be personal, on forums they tend not to be. As evidence I submit the fact that we're all using handles and avatars instead of real name and our real photos. That's impersonal ... and that's why ties to something usually associated with personal info (real name, photo, etc) -- like Facebook -- makes little sense to me, here.

I'd like 1 second page load time back, please.

I agree with Ian. I have seen too much hacking via social networks and quite frankly I am tired of all the URL's that get sent to me as if my contacts sent them.
