88 chevy won't go into 4x4
i have an 88 chevy 1500 305 auto it has around 100k on it. I bought the truck about 6 months ago everything worked fine about a month ago a got stuck in the mud ( up to the door sills stuck), I pulled the truck out and ever since I have no 4x4. The light on the floor does not illuminate at all not in 2x4 or 4x4, I was searchiing for a fuse and looked underneath all conections seem to be made to the transfer case and the front end and I cannot locate a fuse any help appreciated thanks

Welcome to the club. Have you tried unplugging the electric connections and cleaning with a electric cleaner since you got it stuck in the mud?:cool:

The shifter has a linkage connection to the transfercase so if still connected the transfercase will be in 4wd when the shifter is moved. The front actuator on the front differental is notorious for either failing or just becoming disconnected. I'd check the front acuator.
