Ways to increase MPG
i have been looking for ways to increase the gas mileage on my 09 silverado 5.3. i average 20 mpg on my 35 mile highway drive to work which i think is pretty good but my city mpg is pretty bad. i was wondering if the afm can be tuned to help out with this and how much a tune would help my mileage.

A custom tune would help..how much really depends. Whats the mileage in town now? Any other mods? Gears? Tires?
I have the 4.8 and my latest in town mileage is 15.5 MPG. Highway is now around 18 MPG for me. But, I drive fast and have 4.11 gears etc....with my custom tune.

My suburban averages 11, but I found a way to increase my mileage to 30....I leave it parked in the garage and commute on motorcycle. LOL

you already know all the tire psi stuff. some things to look at, K & N drop in AF, or a full CAI, custom tune, a flowmaster or magna flow will help. all that will get u 1.5 to 2. biggest thing is to keep your foot out of it. (something Im bad at.)

My city driving is around 15 mpg I have allredy added a k&n filter and flowmaster 50 series. I read somewear that the afm can be tuned to get better mileage has anyone tryed this? Also are underdrive pulleys worth it?

Don't get underdrive pulleys. They slow the power steering down. Try switching ALL the fluids to synthetics, engine, transmission, axle diffs.
