Default Engine Tick but maybe something else????

last year about this time i had the replace my lifters(1995 C1500 4.3 V6) after one died i figured ill replace them all, well what i have figured so far is the same symptom coming back on a cold start. In the morning it will tick of the number one cylinder but go away after 5 minutes or so. A co worker of mine said it could be a burnt exhaust valve or a dead lifter but how can a lifter go dead after 1 year

any advice is greatly considered because i dont want to end up without a vehicle

whats a good way to check the valves and is removing the cylinder head too hard

My brother's 99 4.3 does the same thing still after he replaced his lifters so it could be a burnt valve and I think my engine does it too when you speed up, but it could be my cats. As per the lifter being bad after 1 year, stranger things have happened. I had 3 fuel pumps go out in a week in my 99 Z71. I would start with the lifter though since its right there and was recently replaced.

If at first you don't succeed, chances are, you are using too small of a cheater bar
