    Default 89 shortbed 305 tbi... no start

    is there a crank sensor on this truck? what is the sensor by the starter?

    Assuming it is the original engine, no there is no crank sensor.
    2002 Silverado K1500HD (NEW!!!!!!!)
    1999 S-10 Blazer

    The function of crank sensor is accomplished by the pickup and module in the distributor. Does it have spark? Take a good hard look at your distributor cap and rotor, also, check your fuel pump pressure. It should be between 9 and 13 psi, the higher the better.
    That sensor down by the starter is the knock sensor. It will not cause a no-start on that engine.
