    I too listened to all the guys on another forum about header wrap so I didn't put it on, everybody said don't do it because it will cause them to rot out fast. I ran them with no wrap for about 45 minutes, and the under the hood temperature was so high that It actually melted my wiring harness to the point where I had to completely remove the engine harness, track down another harness, and reinstall and repair the new one I got. To me having rotted headers is well worth the risk, burn up your wiring harness and you'll sing a different tune lol!

    BTW- I used a thermal gun before and after header wrap, and it dropped the temperature by 400 degrees

    when i was shopping for headers i ended up getting ceramic coated to help with the heat, i would agree about the harness. that sucks.

    I wanted ceramic coated, but they wanted $1,200 for the long tubes for the LT1 which would have cost me more than the whole engine swap...
