Default Intake question on GMC Savana

What is the valve between the filter and engine on the air intake?
Has anyone installed an after market intake in their van? Has anyone seen one online?

Lot's of aftermarket air intake, cold air intake, air filters, etc on the market. What valve are you referring to?

The throttle plate is part of the FE system.
It is more or less the same thing in a carb.
It valves-opens and shuts- to let in air.You have to have just the right combo of air to fuel-roughly 14/1 14 lbs air to 1 lbs of gasoline.
Gasoline burns best about 14/1- too lean 18/1 and it won't ignite in a cylinder-
Diesels don't have this limitation-they can run really lean-so no throttle plate required-

Adding aftermarket intake systems rarely adds much HP to a stock motor-just subtracts $$ from your pocket.

good advice, keep it well maintained and keep your filters clean and replace them when they're clearly dirty or old as well.
