99 Sub 1500 4WD, 182k. JUST bought this beauty last week. LOVIN IT! Already bought a RanchHand grill guard and running boards. Considering black rims, black-out the bumpers and grill...

I previously had a 1991 Chevy 2500 Suburban, 2WD with the 454. I just last week bought a 1999 K1500 Chevy, 5.7 Vortec. It has 181K miles, has been well cared for. It's basically stock, I just want to put some lift on it, chunkier tires and maybe dual exhaust. It has a K&N filter now, and has a decent throaty sound when listened to from the outside. Any tips, I'd welcome them. Pic is from the night we brought her home.Click image for larger version.

Roll Call.. I have a 1994 Chevy Suburban 1500 / 5.7 / Pearl White with Limousine Tint. All chrome has made pearl white or blacked out (no chrome). Sorry, no pictures until I am finished with it. I am doing the before and after at evilson.com. Runs pretty well minus a few thing here and there I am sure I can get fixed. It used to belong to a kid, so I am sure you know the condition I purchased it in...ugh!! He was young and didn't know what he had.

I am going to use it as my companies Mascot. I do Web Hosting and Server Management, so I am going that direction with it .. Any ideas on hot rodding the engine would be greatly appreciated. The reason I joined is for power plant ideas. A guy has a corvette engine he says he can retrofit but I am leery..

I believe the base 5.7 is an awesome start but its not my bowl of soup. I need some experienced engine guys to set me straight.

    Hey guys,
Not new to the forum but new to Suburban ownership. I finished working on the house and decided I needed more seats for the lake so I sold my old truck (Betsy) and bought this new to me 1993 Suburban, everything works including the A/C (just converted it to R134A) and the original radio and tape player. She needs a little body work and some ball joint and shock refreshing but considering only 146000 miles and I paid $1800 I'm happy as can be! I have $1500 left over from the truck sale to start work on her!

The 86 just went to the happy hunting ground last summer. The 94 is still alive and well and running great with 250,000 miles on her.

That image is almost identical to mine except I stripped all trim and door handles and went with a pearl white, so its only white and black. I went with dual exhaust at first but switched back to the original exhaust but heavier diameter pipe and used a thrush muffler (still playing with that) the sound got much better as far as throatier and deeper. I have a higher output cam in it so the lope is nice and very unexpected when I am sitting at a red light. I love the suburban (its a 94), I get the ride, plus the electric goodies inside and around 500 hp. My gas mileage went to hell in town but the freeway isn't bad, around 18 mph. I am still playing with the theme for it. Right now I have Eddy from Iron Maiden in purple and dark dark blue on the side windows, with Eddy coming out of gloss white clouds as a cloud. Hard to describe but lots of compliments. I will upload a pic as soon as I get the rubber and rims taken care of.
