Thread: 2012 Election

    Default 2012 Election

Ok so who's voting for who? It looks like in the GOP the 3 frontrunners now are: Paul, Gingrich, and Romney. On the otherside for the Democrats is Barack Obama. My vote is going to Paul, but who are you guys going to vote for?

I am also leaning toward Paul. The only issue with doing that he isn't going to get enough votes to get elected. So it is almost like wasting a vote. I hope like hell I am wrong. Berry Soetoro can keep his "Hope" if I can keep my "Change".

Honestly at this point I still dont know who to vote for.
I definately do know it wont be for the one sitting in the oval office right now.
Just when a candidate starts making sense and looks like a real possibility they do something stupid to shake your confidence.
If the Republican party doesnt learn to get together and stop fighting each other their gonna give the election away and we'll be in for 4 more years of "hope it changes".

Ron Paul. He's one of the few who walks the walk that he talks. Mostly.

I generally label myself as a republican, but to be honest don't know enough about any of them right now to decide on just who. They all have a lot of policies that will benefit the country and my family so we'll see who gets the nomination. As far as demo-socialists go...It really burns me up that I am expected to go and kill myself day in day out at my job so someone can sit on their lazy butt and demand that I support them.(And yes there are some people who truly need support, but all the leechers have screwed it up for those who need and those who are paying in)
The real issues are non-partisan though:
Budget control- Until we get this under control it won't matter who is in the Oval office
Insurance/Healthcare- Needs to be a bare basic free clinic available for those who can't afford the best (not free) health care. Those who can afford better than the free clinic are free to choose where to get there medical help...
Immigration- Either enforce the law(Federal and State) OR amend the law so we aren't wasting tons of money on the entire immigration enforcement process. Policing the border and housing illegal immigrants in jail cells better than their own home(A/C, cable tv, internet, free health care, college education) costs us a ton of money...
Education- We have to make education a priority, and hold our kids to a higher level, no more of this "no kid left behind" crap. We also need to emphasize teaching economics/financial responsibility to our future generations of politicians so they don't lead our country into a serious financial crisis like we are now.

Just my opinions of course, not everyone will agree. I am hot-headed about anything that takes money out of my pocket. I apologize in advance if anyone is offended.

@MoBilly I take no offense to your stance. This country needs more people that are not affraid to speak their political mind. It has been far to long that political correctness has been the norm. Because of that the population of this country is affraid to say Merry Christmas for fear of upsetting someone.
My take on most of the points you had come back to one thing. You fix immigration you fix many of the other problems. Many people using our schools but paying nothing into them. Because they broke the law they spend time in our jails never having paid anything into the system (tax wise). Health Care is through the roof because the US Supreme Court ruled that hospital's cannot turn away ER patients for lack of insurance. So if you go to ER's at night many of them are full of people that are using the ER as their family doctor.

The only way to fix the problem is to ban corporate campaign contributions. Politicians, like whores, are going to make sure their meal ticket is punched. They don't give a damn about the country, constitution or future. Get me a shovel, we need Reagan again!!!!!
