2001 S10 mystery coolant leak (SOLVED)
I have had my 2001 S10 since it was new, and it now has 75,000 miles on it. It has always leaked coolant from day one, but never enough to actually see a spot on the driveway. Several failed dealer trips, and my own inability to find the leak forced me to just periodically top it off. Well I finally found my coolant leak, my AC/ compressor clutch locked up this summer which I found out is like $300.00 for a new one. I got lucky and found one at a junkyard for $23.00 with a core charge, I evacuated the system and got all the moisture out. When I removed the compressor that's when I saw it, a small but noticeabloe intake gasket leak!! Unless you take the compressor off you never would have seen it, now I am going to be doing my intake gasket here in the near future. Fun, Fun, Fun, and the mystery is over........
