    True. The factory system already pulls air from the fender well. I went with a K&N for other reasons - louder WOT, fewer kinks/bends/chambers for airflow, reusable filter, fun factor of modding the truck...)

    I've got a 98 as well. C1500 mind you... I went with the volant and am satisfied with it for the most part. Looks decent, sounds decent. Quality of the parts was average though. Minor stuff but irritating nonetheless. And lastly, filter gets filthy alot quicker than I thought it would. only about 3k on it and filter went from blue to black already...

    Yeah i think i might just go with a K&N Cai kit....i found them to be a little cheaper then the others...And i have K&N's in every car i own...LOL....why change now....
