My original Delco battery finally gave out. 8 years is pretty good for a vehicle that is never garaged.
Anyway, I was searching for a replacement battery that wasn't made in China and wouldn't cost me $200 like an Optima.
I ended up going with an Autozone gold top. They are made in the good 'ol USA by Johnson Controls. They also make the higher end Delco and Interstate batteries. The lower end batteries from all three companies are still made by Johnson Controls but they come from China.
So, if you need a new battery you can't go wrong with the Autozone Gold. It cost me $106 plus tax. 8 year warranty with 3 year free replacement. I'm not usually a fan of Autozone but in this case I think I did okay.
