    Default Update

Okay- here's the deal so far.

Transfer case is WAY too loose. While lying on the floor, I can push up on it until it almost touches the floor of the truck.

I put shop lights underneath and saw what thought was a crack in the case near the mount. Turns out, I think it's supposed to be that way- I didn't realize that it goes into the mount... so then I felt around it.

Basically, one of the bolts from the mount into the case is hanging loose. Another that should be into the bottom of the case near the base of the mount is missing.

I'm new to this, so bear with me. I have video to post at some point.

I'm taking the brace that the mount sits on down, after unscrewing the mount bolts into the brace. I'll update later.

I doubted the rear end was the problem, but pulled the cover off since I was going to inspect and refill with fluid anyway.

Old gasket looked good and gears looked good. Old fluid wasn't burnt or filthy. Not much for shavings in fluid.

It's the transfer case. More on that later.
