Absurd this may sound. Is there any way leaving your block heater on to long on a cold winter night could do damage to your vehicle? 99 silverado

I plug my 99 Savanna in when it drops below -20c. I've never had a problem. (Overnite)

I know I am late to the thread but I use to live in Fairbanks, AK and the truck was plugged in 24hrs. Really the only time it wasn't was when it was running. Had no problems.

I left my blazer plugged in for days...no problems...
waste of electricity, but no issues...
Fleets and bus companys leave thier trucks plugged in over the weekend...Only thing I can see happening would be shortening the life of the heater.2002 Silverado LS 4x4
