    Default Changing gear ratio

Just wondering that if I had a GM Dealer or a Mister Transmission change out the gears in my axles from 3.42 to 4.10 would it void my warranty? Thanks.

Don't know if it would void the warenty or not, but I would do my resurch on this, my son had some guy hit him, he was driving a Chevy S10 pick up, it broke one of the axle shafts off of the differential, the body shop had a spare S10 blazer with a different ratio rear end in it, we were just going to swap them out, come to find out the computer knows what the ratio should be and we were told we could not swap them out...just sayin

It will void your warranty from the dealer for the parts you swap out (and anything the change might potentially impact).

I am sure it would void the warranty, not only on the parts but the effect down road. So i am sure if you had an engine problem down the road and they discovered you have the 4.10 in it they would say its not a manufacturer problem to the engine but a problem caused by the rear end as the bigger gears are used for heavy towing, wheeling or racing. They would say its a performamce addon and it voids everything it relates too.

Chevy sells a lot of aftermarket stuff, if they offer it they would be able to inform you of any changes to warranty. Call GM, they have good people to talk to that should be able to let you know.
If its done right there will be no harm of anything in your truck by changing gears
