    Default How big a tank does a 2002 2500 3/4 SUV's have?

My car was showing running on empty, with fuel light on, and I filled up gas at 32 gallons... Any idea how big the tank is?

the Low Fuel light will come on.....but with how many Gallons that still remain in the fuel tank for the light to come on, I don't know??

My wife's '02 has an issue with the light coming on if she fuels with the engine running. When fueling with the engine off, no problem. It took us a while to figure that out.
As I recall, there is a fuel tank vent located in the undercarriage, above/in front of the fuel tank, that is prone to clogging. A couple of taps and a wiggle and it usually clears. Do a search on the site for this; I think there are pictures, too.

    Good luck,

Odd they went so small-my 1998 C1500 Suburban has a 44 gallon tank-not that I ever need 900 mile hy range- 500 miles would be plenty for me.

I thought that 26 was the max after they were redesigned in 2001, as there wasnt room, this went the same as that the shortbox only can sustain the 26 but a long box has 34.

My 98 Suburban k1500 has a 41 or 42 gallon I am almost certain. I would have to fins the original sticker to make sure, but 42 gallons seems to ring a bell.

When I bought my 98 Suburban in 2007- it was just a bit above E (owner sold it for just $2950 after spending $2000 on trans rebuild and $2000 on AC)
so he sure wouldn't want to put gas in it.
I drove it to the station figuring it had maybe a 28 gallon tank-would take maybe 24 gallons-$70.
Well 39 gallons and $113 later I was from that notion!!
Almost dropped my teeth-none of my 1/2 pickups took even 30 gallons!!
Pretty sure I came home and looked up the capacity-44 gallons-
I have no idea why it has such a high capacity- it was rated 17 hy-gets 21- even in pure city-12mpg- 44 gallons would be 525 miles- almost 900 miles at 20 mpg-and it gets 21mpg!!
Who drives 800+ miles without taking a leak!! Heck Arty-dog-can go longer than me- but she can't go 14 ours or so!!
