Can you imagine a company wanting to put their name in front of thousands of Chevy owners/drivers very simply? If it where me I would just grab a couple of products from inventory and take pictures then add them to the GMTC contest. Too easy man just too easy to build loyal clientele.

We definitely have a lot of interest in contests. I believe they are good for the moral and spark a resurgence in posting. Kinda wakes everyone up from the hibernation and going to other similar sites that have no contests.

Yes -- contests definitely make the site 'stickier' ... as long as they are not too convoluted, riddled with disclaimers, and are well-publicized.

Personally I think active site contests should be stickied at the top of the forum so they aren't mixed/lost in the clutter of other games and such. Once the contest is over and winner(s) announced (which should be in the thread and on the front page), it'd make sense to unsticky it.

Agreed Surrealone, 150%. Post winners and close the thread. Post next contest.

Disclaimers are a good point as well.

The only downfall I can think of is that a contest based on the number of user posts will flood the site w/ garbage unless specific post just don't count. In example, guess the next poster game.
