Will a New Process transmission and transfer case from a 97' fit directly, and work, in a 99' Suburban, without any problems or mods?

Is it a new process transmission? Also, what model NP transfer case is it? Common GM transmission that went in the Suburban were 4L60E for 1/2 ton trucks and 4L80E for 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. I'm not sure what transfer case was used in 99, I think it was either an NP241 or an NV transfer case for the half ton trucks.Christopher

I don't think the '97 transfer case will be direct replacement, as I believe the NV246 was first introduced for the '98 model year. If you do it, I would try to get all of the transfer case stuff (switches, control module, lever [if applicable], and so on).
I believe, since the '99 suburban was still the old body style (OBS), the transmission should swap ok (assuming you are swapping from 1500 to 1500 or 2500 to 2500). Are the donor and recipient both half ton? or both 3/4 ton?'98 K1500 Suburban LS 5.7 L 4L60E NV246 ARB
