Cruise Control '99 Silverado 2500
My cruise control stopped working. Where should I start troubleshooting to find the problem? Thanks.

As for personal experience I would check the fuse, kick the brake pedal in an up direction and see if it comes on, check brake fluid level, and I forget what else. The brake switches get out of adjustment. On newer trucks it samples fluid level. If you try kicking the brake pedal, do it while exceeding 25MPH and keep your eyes on the road.

If that is the C/K (GMT400) model then you will also want to take a close look at the Cruise control module it isnt uncommon for those to go bad, or else the multi function switch.Mike

Did it get intermittent ...then quit? Probably brake switch.. can pull up on brake switch with one foot while driving .
If cruise works brake switch... if it gets worse will start having shift problems.
