Question electric key start, causes truck to have no power when trying to drive

My 2006 silverado has the electric key start where you can crank your truck up without the key in the ignition, and when I try using this then put my key and turn it and put it in gear, (sometimes the security light is on) it acts like its has no power. The rpms shoot way up but I barely move more than 20 mph. I know this aint suppose to happen, and the only way to get it driving normal is to cut it off and let it sit a few minutes. This only happens when using the electric key start no other times. Any ideas and how go about fixing this?

I assume you mean remote start? Is this a factory option or is it an aftermerket add on remote start?

the computer/key fob needs to be reset for the remote start most likely, thats why your security light is staying on and it is in some kind of limp mode. Sadly your gonna have to take it to the dealership to get it done. Usually just to run a diagnostic its like 85 bucks......
