    Default 1996 Suburban Starter

    The starter in my suburban is bad the solenoid is good. I just dont know where to start with changing it out. What is the best way to get at it and change it out. thanks for any info.

    starters are generally 2 bolts. A long and short one, there is a couple wires that are held on by smaller nuts and a washer, pretty simple, sometimes they are a little tricky depending on where its located on the flywheel. I just recently changes out mine on my 99 silverado and took some manuevring and a few choice words to help it along, but from start to finish was still only a 15 min job!
