Default Anyone use tailgate hinge lock?

I saw an article in the newspaper today about how common tailgate theft is, and the built in tailgate handle lock is easy to unlock. I have seen these hinge locks, but they are kinda expensive. http://www.mcgard.com/Applications/A...lSkQRFXQ%3d%3d

Im thinking about just making my own with a hose clamp and a torx head bolt.

Did anyone else make their own, or have an opinion on the issue?

Since anyone with the right tool can bypass the security screw on that hinge lock (or even a hose clamp with a torx head bolt), how about something a bit more active, like: http://www.popandlock.net/index.php?...id=57&parent=2
