Default Problem with my intermittent Wipers.......2002 Trailblazer 33,200 Miles

On my way to work today I noticed that my intermittent wipers were acting strangely. They would cycle fine with the delay set on maybe 5 seconds for 5 or 6 passes-then it would be like the wipers forgot they were supposed to make a full pass. They would go about mid-windshield and repark to start off quickly again.

Any ideas??? This is on a 2002 Trailblazer with 33,200 miles.
    Thanks, Ben

Check the wiper motor controller, IIRC it is on the right side of the engine compartment near the firewall
