    Default Looking for HVAC advice

Do we have any HVAC techs on this board. I'm trying to install a Gas, forced air heater in garage and have a venting question.

Ok cool, the furnace I put in is 45000BTU gas heater in garage...

    Installed 3" elbow to 3" x 36" B-vent, passes thru ceiling with a timble...

Where it passes thru roof, can the B-vent touch roof or does it need 1" clearance all the way around? before I put on vent cap and storm collar.

I believe you need an inch clearance around the B-vent. Also make sure the boot for the roof flashing is metal as well. Let me know if you have any other questions, I will try to anwser as best as I can.

Thanks. That roof flashing is metal and the B-vent is touching time to get up there with the sawsall again. Damn. Maybe I should just stick to fixing Cable TV.

    Smile Heat/pump versus Heater Only

I was wondering if you looked and reviewed the Heat/Pump units. I'm thinking to do the combination, it's either too cold or too Hot in Maryland. The other is installing a Wood Pelt stove. Yeah, I know it all about COST ttoo. Please share your cost factors to completion.

So far I'm $599 for heater, $100 for B-vent kit, $600 to install gas main from house to garage/workshop (Approx. 60' bore, 1" plastic, 2 shut offs)(Done by gas contractor) Now I need a friggin' pipe fitter if he'd ever bother to get his @ss in gear. It's going down to -2 tonite. BRRRRRR
