    Default ABS sensor

I have a 1995 Silverado 3500 4X4. It has been diagnosed as having a problem with the sensor in the right wheel hub. What is the least expensive fix for this problem?

Least expensive fix, is to open your hood, and pull all the harnesses off your abs unit. Which will effectively leave you without ABS.

Now in some states, if a vehicle comes from the factory with a Fed approved safety device/item, disabling it makes your vehicle fail inspection and your registration could be revoked.

Is the sensor not giving a reading? Giving faulty readings?
When it was diagnosed, what was suggested to be done to fix the problem?

The only thing I ask, for your safety, and those around you, is to not take the position that "if you don't get it fixed then it won't work when you need it to, and that's ok".
The problem is that if it's sending bad signals, it MAY work when you DON'T need it to, leaving you with limited braking power in a critical situation.

    My opinion.....
Don't mess around. If it's faulty get it fixed. If you can't afford to get it fixed, pull the harnesses off to disable the ABS until you can get it fixed.

There about $176 from GM for 1 wheel but Patrick is right is causes other dangerous driving conditions. Better fix it before the snow flies.

Had an abs problem in my 99 sierra. Last week I going down a steep hill my abs engaged for no reason and I wasn't slowing down flew out into the intersection somehow missing all cars and made it out ok. Got to school opened the hood and disconnected everything from the module. I would rather have no ABS than abs that engages whenever it decides to.

Dude i think you have a little more serious issue than the anti lock brake system.
abs is only designed to prevent your wheels from locking up when you hard brake ..if your not stopping going down a steep hill you got a brake issue there.

that really sounds like a master brake cylinder failure i had that happen in my 86 burb. it looses the presure and you go to press the brake you dont stop.
