Default Converting from automatic to standard transmission. Driveshaft question.

Greetings. Hopefully, someone that has converted from an automaic to a standard transmission can answer this question. I have a 1984 C10 shortbed pickup with a 350 Turbo automatic transmission and I am wanting to replace it with a 4 speed standard transmission from a 1986 C10 long bed truck. My question pertains to the driveshaft. My hollander manual shows that the automatic and standard transmissions use different driveshafts. Will my automatic driveshaft work if I change the front yoke and u-joint - that is, put the standard front yoke and u-joint on the automatic driveshaft that is currently in my truck? Any suggestions? Thanks for your time and help. Joe

Pretty sure you'll have to have the shaft lengthened. The manual tranny is shorter then the auto.

the length is a issue and the manual yoke is 32 spline like a th400 where the th350 is 27 spline.
the joint size varies, it most likely the th350 has a 1310 or 1330 series joint and the manual yoke should use a 1350 series joint

However most fab shops can make the correct lenght drive shaft for you.. we have one here that does anything to do with driveshafts at a pretty decent price.
