I have a 2010 Chevy Silverado Z71 with only 12999 miles on her and I have had a set of 20's 22's and 24" wheels on her and have had transmision problems for a bit now, so just wanted to ask wverbody out there with big weel and tire set up if the are having any problems with there transmision?

Jesse, Welcome to the club. I really can't answer that question. I have had transmission problems due to too much HP, not from wheel sizes. I am assuming that you are talking about a 4L60E trans? If you change the wheel and tire combined diameter, you change the final drive ratio. Increasing the diameter decreases the final drive ratio, and may make it harder to accelerate the mass of your truck.

Hi Jesse, well I have had 2 Silverado and had 20s on both and no trany problems. What matters is the outside diameter of your tires. Mine were 30 and now only 31, not allot of difference. Just try to keep it close to the original diameter and you should be okay.

You said you had a 2010 with almost 13k miles, I would definitely bring it in for service considering it should still be under warranty. If you're concerned about your aftermarket wheels contributing to the problem do you still have the stock ones to throw on? Might be worth putting the stocks on in case the dealer tries to BS you on warranting it.

In any case, nice looking truck, good luck, and welcome!
