Default 2500HD Truck Tires + Right fit ??????

Can someone tell me if I can run a set of Nitto All-Terrain Grapplers on my 2007 Chevy 2500Hd - Z85 Pkg Factory Wheels?
Current - Leveling Kit, BFG 285 75R16 "E" load and rough riding with 39K so far.
Desire - Nitto All Terrain Grapplers either 285 70R17 or 75R16...."D" load preferred...will the 70R17 fit?
90% road usage and utility trailer / boat pulling only. What can you tell me?

    Thanks

If you have a NNBS (like mine), the 285/70/17s will fit (I ran those same tires with a 2 1/4 leveling kit without any problems...heck, if I remember correctly, I even had that tire size before I leveled my truck and they fit easily). If you have the older model 2007, I'm not sure.

Let me add to my response. It was written assuming that you are changing to 17" rims as well.

The correct tire will be a 10 ply, not less, for loads in that size truck. You can run an 8 ply, and it will ride nicer, but it is not engineered for a max load of a 2500 series truck. If you tow a trailer it would be critical because of side to side sway difference between the higher number of belts and the lower number of belts, in my opinion.
