Advice Needed: Get a used 2010 GMC Sierra or Wait for the New Model to Come out
I currently own a 2000 GMC Sierra that I've been looking to replace since it's getting a bit long in the tooth and has cost me quite a few dollars to fix in the last 3 years. I recently came across a used 2010 GMC Sierra SLE ext. cab 4X4 with the 5.3/6 speed auto combo and a bunch of accessories that the previous owner got put on like a tonneau bed cover, chrome package, etc. Anyhow, I get get this truck for $27 000 on the road. Brand new the truck would have been $38 000 on the road, with cash discounts of $10-12K. This truck has only 17 000 km on it.
At the same time, I would also like to wait until next year to see the new 1/2 ton that GM is bringing out. I don't think you'll get anywhere near the same cash discounts on the first year of a new model, however.
I'm not overly impressed with the 2007-2012 style. It's good but doesn't seem to be as modern as the Ram and F150. I'm hoping that the new design next year addresses these issues.
Any advice as to whether I should take the deal on the used one or wait?
Also, have the 2007-2012 models been reliable? Except for the last 3 years, my 2000 Sierra has been great. It has never left me stranded ever.

Seems like a fair price! Cliff mills in oshawa has a 2010 GMC for $27000 but over 30,000km...
I didn't have any major issues with my 07/09/12...
I'm anxious to see what new styles for the trucks next year. Like the looks of the 2013 Malibu!
It all boils down to how bad do you want the truck. and what you say about incentives for new body styles was right. When I picked up my NBS07 there was none, when I got the the 2012 last march there was over $11,000. I picked up my 2009 with 8,000km Dec of 2010 for $26,500 from a GM EXEC and thought that was a steel! So seems fair! Finally a signature and Avatar! I also posted some pics in the Gallery.

Chevy is getting so far away from what they call a truck. They don't even look like a truck anymore look like lifted cars with a bed. Kind of disappointed in Chevy on this one.

Because I have seen the concept pic's I would go with the used truck. I have an 11 and the only complaint I have is the road noise. There is a new TSB that was put out that is supposed to fix that.
