Well thus far I have only towed my boat from my building behind the house down to the lake (about 120 miles) storage unit. The boat is 6,625 lbs dry weight, then add 600lbs of gas, 425lbs of water, 500+lbs of gear, 80lbs of chain, and then whatever the swim platform I added weighs (2-300lbs?) plus the trailer and all toll somehow with the trailer on the scales it weighs around 11,000lbs. Truck handled it fine, miss my manual shift for the big hills but I'll get used to a automatic one day I'm sure. To put the boat in perspective my 6'3" friend can stand up in the cabin of the boat and not hit his head.

Other things that I tow pretty often but just havent yet (its winter after all) however fully expect this truck to be able to tow:
Multi Roll bale mover with 6'x5'x6' rolls @ 2k lbs each (I think it holds 8 bales when not stacked) about 12 stacked. On/off road
Fertalizer buggy - with fertailizer can weigh 5,000-15,000 lbs. loaded. On/off road This truck already seems MUCH more grippy than the Dodge.
Wagons with varying loads
Etc. Other duties as assigned. lol
I will also expect it to haul around 4k lbs in the bed at least once a year as it almost always happens. I will also next winter start hauling during snow storms a 2500lb pallet of salt bags with a salt spreader on the hitch and 750lb plow on the front. Countless loads of firewood. Other random things for the farm or landscaping at home.Buy Made in USA, The job you save just might be your own.

New to the forum but here's why we bought our older, 1 owner, 2000 Suburban 2500, 6.0 Vortec, w/tow package and 200,000mi. It's pulled about 1000mi in the last year since we bought both the truck and the 10,000lb boat/trailer. It's only rarely disconnected as an exclusive toy hauler.
It needed a larger trans cooler and more frequent engine oil/filter changes but has done just fine so far. Mileage is about 9mpg on the flat roads of Florida and it'll comfortably pull at about 65mph with trans temps between 190* w/o the addl trans cooler and 160* with it.
Great forum. Hope I can share something with substance some day. Thanks, Mike

Towed an 18ft wood-floor flatbed around a pasture and collected about 30 railroad ties, approx. 200lbs each...took them down to another farm. Truck barely even squatted.Opiewho
