So the other day I got a wild hair, and decided to do the next mod on my truck. I wasn't willing to wait, or pay close to $400 (absolutely RIDICULOUS price) for the Recon smoked tail lights I wanted so I went to O'Reilly's and bought a can of VHT nightshades and decided just to tint my tail lights myself!
It was a fairly easy process, I followed a great instructional video on youtube down to the T, and everything turned out great!
Here are the lights after the first coat of VHT nightshades, I did 3 altogether and then 4 coats of clear.
Here is another progress pic; the light on the left has 3 coats of nightshades and the one of the right has 2. I kind of wish I had only done 2 coats but oh well! Still looks great!
And here's the finished product! I tinted both tails and the 3rd brake light, they are completely blacked out except for the reverse lens! It looks awesome and they are still just as functional as before. My next step is to buy LED bulbs to put in them. This mod was only $14 and looks awesome, so I think I did pretty well for myself!
Feedback greatly appreciated!09 Sierra SLT

Looks sharp! Everything is coming along nicely. Tonneau looks great, especially the black on white, but I may be slightly biased.

Looking good! Hows your gas mileage since removal of the air damn? I love the tails and the pin-stripe looks cool too. Keep up the good mod work.

Removing my air dam didn't change my MPGs at all, I only took it off because I think it makes the front end look too cluttered.
And the grille ran me around $120 with shipping. It was the first mod to my truck because I hated my plain black grille. Actually ordered it the day after I bought the truck. I ordered it off grille4u.com, but I DON'T recommend the one I got. The clips they send you to mount the grille do not fit properly and I had to rig it myself by bending some mounting hardware. I personally think your truck would look good with a billet grille of some kind.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. It's coming along slowly but surely. I have most all of the 'smaller' less expensive mods done to it already, next up is messing with the suspension and performance.
I just ordered a 2.5" TopGunCustomz leveling kit yesterday, should be on in the next week or so. That should last me until it's time to get new tires. (as well as the Rough Country 3.5" lift.)
