    Default Hello Chevy Truck Owners

I am new to the site. I have a 1988 Chevy Cheyenne 1500, 350 5.7 TBI with about 169000 miles on it. I love this truck, but . . . I have an egr issue that I cannot resolve. I have replaced the egr and the egr vacuum solenoid. When the egr vacuum hose is plugged in, the truck has a rough idle and very bad hesitation at take off. When the egr vacumm hose is unplugged, the truck runs great, I discovered this while checking the hoses for leaks, but the check engine light comes on on interstate drives. Switch off and back on, no light. I have it unplugged but have a fuel filter stuck in the end of the hose to help filter the air intake. I would greatly like your input on this so that I can rightly correct this problem.

I am SurrealOne of Borg. Lower your truck and surrender your keys. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Resistance is futile. Erm, I mean ... welcome to GM Truck Club!

    Note:
I recommend posting your inquiry in the technical sections of the forum -or- the section specific to your vehicle. You'll reach a wider group of the forum members that way ... and target your inquiry more directly to those who might already have experience with it.
