    the only thing i am wondering is how they will sound after 2 years of sitting in a box. would that have any negative effects?

    No dfferentthen a sub thats been in a box for the weeks as long asthe subs are working fine and not blown your good

    I think you will be happy with it. My first set of subs for my car in 1989 were 12" lanzars. They were awesome....then the local shops here quit carrying them but they are popular back east. So unless the quality has went south it should hold up fine.
