Hey everyone.. I have heard of people doing engine swaps to a4BT Cummins for the tahoes, Has anyone here heard of this?
are there better options? What would be the cost in something like this?
Thanks for the help!

Not worth it in the end. It will take too much money, doing through the electrical, drive line, and so on. You'd be better off to sell the tahoe, and get a diesel crew cab truck and put a topper on it.

^x2 you would have to change over the entire fuel delivery system and maybe even the tank. Along with the engine you would need the tranny for it as the standard tahoe tranny wont handle it. the computer to match that engine and tranny, then you would need new driveshafts as the stockers wouldnt be strong enough and most lokely the right length. heavier rear end and front end if 4x4. better suspension and brakes to handle the extra weight. unless you got custom built axles and gears you would be using some kind of stock axles which then would be 8 lug so you would need new wheels and tires as well.99 K1500 Suburban LT "THE BEAST"

There is a guy in Florida that puts the duramax in older tahoes and suburbans. He wants about 20 thousand to do it. That is all electrical, trans, motor, fuel delivery, and new rear axle. I think the company name is duraburb . Just google it.
