Default 1994 silveraldo 1500 right turn signal problem

i just recently got a 94 chevy silveraldo truck and am having problems with the right turn signal, when you turn on the right turn signal it flashes really fast and the indicator on the dash does not light up,the rear tail light flashes fast but the front right does not flash at all so i replaced the 2 amber bulbs in the front right and cleaned the old yellow grease that was in the sockets and it seemed to fix the problem
and then it started flashing fast again,i checked all the bulbs in the back and they are ok,this seems to be a intermenant situation where 8 times out of 10 the right side blinks fast and a few times it worked normal brifley with the right turn signal indicator working (lighting up on dash at normal speed) anyways what could this be ?

    thanks

I had an issue like this with my '94 hunting truck....this is what i found

If the left turn signal flashes, and the right does not flash, then the flasher unit is OK. The same flasher operates both left and right turn signals.Same goes for the 4 way flasher....if that really is causing a problem, then both left and right sides would be acting up.Check your ground,i had a bad ground and that was causing it to act up.So i cleaned that up and it went away for awhile. It then started to do it again so i was puzzled.I even checked for a short, found nothing.I checked everything with a test light and everything seemed to be ok.I then went to the junkyard and got a diff turn signal switch...and come to find out that was the issue!Hope this helps!...

I had a problem similar. mine was in an s10 i had front signals and one back the one on the back passenger would not work. replaced the bulb and got nothing. i took it out and got a connection after Pulling on the harness trying to seat the bulb. it was a bulb you push in and turn. so off i went thinking it worked. that night it quit again. i broke out the little voltage light and probed the wires before the connector i got power and my voltage probe light flashed. probed after the connector and it was dead. cut the old connector out and solderd/heat shrinked it all back together and wala. maybe if your bulb was loose it wollerd the socket causing a really bad/no connection.

It's either a bad ground or a bad socket (right front).
    Good Luck and God Bless

after further troubleshooting i think the problem is ultimatley located in the turn signal switch, the other day i went to turn on the right signal and it worked fine again then went to blinking fast so i monkeyed withe the turn signal switch and barley put pressure down on it and it goes to normal when making a right.this worked fine for like 3 days then i tryed again this morning and it went back to blinking fast again and when i tryed to move the switch a little it would not go back to normal blinking like the last few days.

damn switch i don't think im gonna mess with that,i'll let a auto mechanic do that.

thanks for all the suggestions and help.

Good responses all. I like that someone traced it to the plastic switch
