Have you checked your fuel filter?

    What engine do you have?

Welcome to the club! I had a 98 Tahoe that had a lifter that sticked and made it feel like a cloged fuel filter.

Welcome to the club!! I would also check the fuel filter. A coworker of mine had a similar issue and it turned out to be a loose wire on the fuel pump.

Are you losing antifreeze? Is the bottle getting low? Did you have to add antifreeze? You could have a small leak and that is what you are smelling. I agree with @aloxdaddy99 about checking the fuel pump wiring. Rent a fuel pressure gauge from autozone and check the pressure when your truck starts acting funny. You could have a bad ground. I would also pull the egr valve off and give it a good cleaning.
