92 Suburban climate control issue...
Got a weird one, here.
I have a 1992 Chevy Suburban 5.7 4X4 with 265000 miles on it.
It runs good for its age, but things are starting to get tired.
The issue at hand is my climate controls died. No display, nothing. For awhile, it would come on if you turned the key off and on again, but even that doesn't work anymore. I've checked the fuses and they all seem okay. Thing is; the three relays that sit on the airbox behind the glovebox are chattering like crazy, intermittently. I've pulled each one and the others still chatter, I've swapped them around and I've pulled them all (of course, the chattering stops, then).
When the truck is idling, it will start to run rough at idle when the relays start doing their little dance. I checked under the hood and the FP relay doesn't seem to be acting up, but I can hear some other clicking in the engine compartment that I can't locate or identify. I went ahead and disconnected the A/C compressor electrics, too. Prior to all this, the rear climate control stopped working, but that has been quite awhile ago. The rear fan works, as I checked it by hooking power to it directly.
Has anyone ever had this issue or can anyone point me in the right direction? I need to get the wife a newer 'Burb, but it's going to be a bit bfore I can and I need to keep this one running for awhile longer.
Thanks for any and all help.
