That looks cool... I don't think the 4.8s little (what is it) 298 or 289 would look very intimidating like a 327 or even 325 ;) But I don't know maybe I'll try masking flames again & painting them on my cover... does that NNBS cover just pop off or is it bolted on? If I get arround to it I'll be sure to post pics.2007 Silverado RS, 4.8 V8, 2WD

Can you sand the texture off of that cover? If so how? The little marbles between my ears are rattling an idea around.

sure can, i had some 240 grit laying around from those rims i did, and thats what i used on the vortec logo, some 150 grit then some higher say 200 then again with some 400 or so, would really smooth it out.
the 240 i used seemed to work fine, all depends on how much of the texturing you want to sand off.

Thanks Alex. I wasn't sure if the sand paper would mare the surface instead of smooth it out.

Alox, if you find that there's more marring than you want then you can always go behind the 400 grit with 1000, then 1500, then 2000 to keep it sanded (to hold paint) but still smooth to our naked eye. Don't forget to use adhesion promoter before painting and top off with clear coat to protect your paint.
