Why is the term 'honest politician' an oxymoron; whatever happened to honest politicians?

Because Honest and Politician are opposites. And the answer to your second question is simply GREED!

Why has so many networks gone to reality shows. Has there become a shortage of good writers?

Paying people to be on reality shows cost a lot less than paying writers, so it's a bottom line decision.

Why is it that when we get older time seems to go so much faster?
06-15-2012, 10:55 AM #49
Time seems to go faster as we get older because a given amount of time is a smaller fraction of our lives than it once was -- and our perception of it is, thus, that it is quicker now than it previously was. For example, an eight hour car ride is unbearable to a six year old (which is constantly asking 'are we there, yet?') because, compared to a sixty year old, that same eight hour span is a much bigger/longer chunk of the six year old's life. The six year old, thus, sees it as taking forever ... whereas the sixty year old perceives it as a a tiny fraction of a much larger whole.
Why does wisdom require age?
06-16-2012, 07:55 AM #50
First of all wisdom and knowledge are not the same. Knowledge is knowing the odds are in the houses favor, wisdom is avoiding temptation by not going to the casino. My Dad always told me that if it's true that you learn from your mistakes that I would be the smartest person in the world. I think knowledge and wisdom in part are learned by our mistakes therefore the older we are the more wisdom we attain.
