    Looks like the OP has his answer, so I'll just add this. All oil makers are supposed to meet minimum standards for lubricity, and thermal breakdown. This is why they have ASTME or SAE quality ratings on the label. I agree with others here who said, "pick a brand, and stick with it." Some synthetics are meant for use in vehicles with multiple filters, designed for extended change intervals. I saw a Caddy motor that had Pennzoil used in it. The valve covers looked like they had been moulded arround the rockers, there was so much soot and carbon built up. YUCK! I always liked Valvoline, Mobile 1, and have huge respect for AMSOIL, or ROYAL PURPLE. I used the generic oil in the orange quart containers from Autozone for years, to save money. I used Mobile Del/Vac in the black bottly in my diesel engines, year round. I would add that a new filter each oil change is good insurance, even though some say every other change. I never had a Fram filter fail, but others swear by Purolater due to construction differences. Good luck.
